[:en]The Wolfsschanze (Wolf’s Lair) is a complex of bunkers that during World War II served as Hitler’s most important secret headquarters. The remains of the fortified city of bunkers are located in a Masurian forest, in the town of Gierłoż near Kętrzyn. Took a train from Giżycko to Kętrzyn, then a taxi to Wolfsschanze.
The most notable assassination attempt against Hitler was made at the Wolf’s Lair on 20 July 1944, also known as 20 July plot, or Operation Valkyrie. Shall watch the movie “Valkyrie” for further info.
